The ground where colourful crocuses are waiting to break free from the thawing earth and open their petals to the warmth of the sun has become a blanket of white as heavy snow continue to fall on a late winter visit that has brought Britain and most of Europe on a stand still.
But the 'Beast from the East' has not only brought plenty of chills. With schools closing which forced parents to abandon the workplace, the local park has seen an army of sledges and squealing children (and young at heart). Never mind the thick flurries and the harsh winds, days like these don't come often so it must be fully embraced.
And what is a snowy day without a snowman? Or a snow rat at least?
